How to Prepare Files
| No matter which program
you create your file in the best format to send it to us in is a pdf.
If you send us your file as a word document, photshop file,
illustrator file or any other program your run the risk of us not
having the same fonts that you used. Our system will then just default
Times New Roman for any font we don't have. With a pdf that is never a
problem the font is carried forward inside the pdf so that anyone can
open it and see it exactly the way you wanted it to be seen.
Files can also been sent in a jpg or tif format but if not done correctly the resolution of the file may not turn out the way you wanted it to, again pdf keeps any of that from happening. If you don't have a way to convert to pdf there is a free programs online you can download that does a great job at it http://pdf995.com/ What is the best resolution (dpi) to create my files in? 300 dpi is really the lowest resolution that should ever be used for something that needs to be printed, I would use 600 dpi in most cases unless it just makes your file size to big to do anything with. Files that are created to be used on the internet (ex. Facebook, web pages, or myspace) are saved at 72 dpi and will look very pixelated or blurry when printed. The best thing to do in the case is to find the person who originally created the file and have them take the original file (before converted to 72dpi) and save it instead to 300 or 600 dpi. Please feel free to give us a call or email us with any question you may have on exactly how to handle your files in the way that will allow them to print as clean and sharp as possible. |
